GOING TO
SCHOOL WITH
COVID-19
As schools open during this pandemic, there
are several changes and new procedures being
implied to have a safe and healthy school year.
The first and most common regulation is that
all staff and students must wear masks. Except
for children under 2 years. Additionally, proper
ventilation of all rooms must be upheld. When
weather permits windows should be open with a
fan to properly ventilate fresh air. Additionally,
the use of an air purifier to filter and clean air
is recommended. Students should not have
desks facing each other but rather facing in one
direction. When having lunch, meals should be
pre-packaged separately. To reduce the risk of
contamination for lunch buffet and family styles
are not an option. Disposable food service items
should be used to reduce spread.
These are all just some of the steps being
taken to go to school. Remote teaching services
are being utilized. Many schools are turning to
online teaching methods where students will be
taught from home via zoom or google classroom.
This shift to online teaching makes it difficult
for teachers to fully interact with each student.
This shift in teaching style can greatly reduce
a childs ability to learn. Children can find it
difficult to focus during online classes when at
home.
