NOTES FROM NITA...
Matthew 1:1 “A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David,
the son of Abraham” ………..
JOY SENIORS As we begin reading that wonderful and informative book of Matthew, we
sigh when we see the long listing of his genealogy. Not only do we not want to pronounce all
those names, but does it really matter? To prove that Jesus is the Messiah. Matthew proves his
ancestors match up to the claim of His birth being the fulfillment of God’s promise. His roots
are verified.
As Christians we verify our identity with our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Asking for forgiveness of our sins, professing our belief in Jesus Christ and accepting his
sacrificial death on the cross which paid the price for our sins. The knowledge of this act of all
powerful love by Jesus Christ overwhelms us. May it also envelope us with the love and the
devotion He showed to us. May we pass it on!
