Harbotzas Torah Award
Rabbi Menashe & Amanda Benedict
It is always rewarding when alumni move on
and are so productive and integral to their new
communities. It is, as much as anything else, a
testament to the Yeshiva, its rebbeim and overall
environment. The Benedict family is continually
allowing the Yeshiva to take pride in their
accomplishments. Their collective dedication to the
Yeshiva and the growth of Torah is an inspiration to us
all.
Menashe learned in Yeshiva and excelled.
As a young boy, he grew up in Queens, attending
Tiferes Moshe and South Shore respectively. After
time at Yeshiva Tiferes Yerushalayim, Bais Yisroel
and Mir in Eretz Yisroel, Menashe came to study at
the Yeshiva. His energy and passion for Torah and
yiddishkeit earned him a sterling reputation amongst
his rebbeim and peers. After learning in the Yeshiva’s
kollel, following his marriage to Amanda, for 2 years,
Menashe went to learn again in Eretz Yisroel, going
back to the Mir. Subsequently, the Benedicts settled
in the Philadelphia community to join the local kollel
where, aside from learning full time, he learned with
community members at night. After 3 years in the
kollel, Menashe took on a role teaching and doing
kiruv at local universities, under the Meor program. It
is here where Menashe’s deep love for Torah and
