Rabbi Yosef and Shani Richtman
There are many ways that people contribute
to the growth of an institution. In the case of the
Richtman family, there are just too many to list.
Everything from the weekly divrei Torah, the food in
the Yeshiva, Mosher Kosher, Avos U’banim and so
many other things, Yosef is there to fill in the blanks.
Regardless, when it comes to the Richtman family,
nothing is done or said without a smile, dedication
and selflessness. The Yeshiva is fortunate to have them
as members of its hanhala. Outside of Yeshiva, Yosef
volunteers for many organizations and also assists
in running programs for Siach Yitzchok. Yosef can
be seen all over the neighborhood during the week,
running to a chavrusa or to do a chesed.
He grew up in St. Louis and Chicago, graduating
from Skokie Yeshiva High School before learning at
Bais Yisroel for the following 4 years. During his 4th
year in Bais, Yosef married his wife Shani. When they
returned to America, Yosef learned in Yeshiva Sh’or
Yashuv for one year, after which he joined the then
newly formed YGFT Kollel. After learning full time in
the Yeshiva for several years, Yosef was added to the
YGFT staff as Director of Special Projects. He is truly
instrumental in the Yeshiva’s success.
