KANGANA RANAUT’S FILM
TEJAS TO GO ON FLOORS IN DECEMBER 2020
Kangana Ranaut will begin the shoot of her
upcoming film Tejas in December this year. The
actress took to social media to announce the
news. In the film, Kangana will be seen playing
an Indian Air Force pilot. Directed by Sarvesh
Mewara, the film is being produced by the
makers of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical
Strike. The actress also shared a new poster of
the film in which she is seen standing in front of
an IAF fighter plane. She can be seen donning
the uniform and posing for the camera.
In a statement, Kangana said, “Tejas is an
exhilarating story where I have the privilege of
playing an air force pilot. I am honored to be
a part of a film that celebrates these brave men
and women in uniform who make immense
sacrifices in the line of duty every day. Our film
celebrates the armed forces and its heroes ...
Excited to take this journey with Sarvesh and
Ronnie.”
Talking about the film, director Sarvesh

further evoke a spirit of patriotism
and nationalism through my
storytelling. Kangana is a
strong woman with a voice that

nation and I cannot wait to
begin shooting with Kangana.”
The makers of Tejas revealed
that they were preparing for the
film when the novel coronavirus
pandemic hit the world and all
production work was halted.
Ronnie Screwwala, the producer
of the film, said in a statement,
“We were in the midst of prep
when the world was hit by this
unfortunate pandemic. I’m
pleased to announce that we are resuming
work and will commence shoot later this year.

The Surgical Strike, celebrated the courage of
the Indian Army and Tejas is our dedication to
the brave fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force.
The idea of developing a story around a woman
fighter pilot was born in-house by Salona Bains
Joshi, the Associate Producer on the project,
and I backed it instantly. With Kangana as
the lead, I hope our film inspires many more
women to join the Indian Air Force.”
Tejas revolves around a woman fighter pilot
in the Indian Air Force. Kangana Ranaut
is playing the lead role in the film. It was in
2016 when IAF allowed their women officers
to join combat roles by inducting three fighter
pilots: Flight Lieutenants Bhawana Kanth,
Avani Chaturvedi, and Mohana Singh. Tejas is
inspired by this landmark event.
