Kangana Ranaut - a name that sparks controversy
and makes you scribble through the internet to see
what has she done now? Over the years, Hindi film
lovers, fans, haters, media, and even her colleagues,
have labeled Kangana as the troublemaker. But what
most of the time gets brushed away to the sidelines
is the fact that she has also been a multi-talented
achiever, trailblazer, and disruptor.
Beneath the ripples that she creates with her solid
views and extreme (and often questionable) opinions,
is an actress par excellence; the one who knows how to
own every frame of the movie she stars in. The leading
lady always wears a heart on her sleeves and is never
afraid to speak her mind. She also has justified her talent
on screen several times and has several accolades to her
name to show for that. We decided to list a few of Kangana
Ranaut’s movies on the big screen that will always be etched
in her memories.
GANGSTER (2006)
Kangana Ranaut’s debut film Gangster alone was
enough proof that she was born to be in front of the
camera. Regarded as one of Anurag Basu’s best
works, the movie portrays emotions like betrayal
and falling in love. The film follows a story of a
woman named Simran (Kangana Ranaut) who
falls in love with a man named Daya (Shiney
Ahuja) who turns out to be a notorious criminal.
This obviously does not sit too well with her and
she begins to despise her life. Frustrated with
her current situation, she eventually falls into the
arms of Akash (Emraan Hashmi).
WOH LAMHE… (2006)
In the film Woh Lamhe, Kangana portrayed a
real-life story on the big screen. Her character in
the movie was a tribute, of sorts, to yesteryear’s
actress Parveen Babi and her relationship
with noted filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. While
Woh Lamhe did receive criticism by many,
Kangana’s part in the film was appreciated
by one and all. Many even claimed it
was like watching Parveen Babi herself
on the screen albeit in a different body.
Kangana Ranaut Playing a schizophrenic, she accurately
depicted the trauma of the actress as
her personal life went down the dumps
along with her career.
