With panic and a little anger in Mrs. Brown’s voice, she
replied, “If he is not here, why did you invite us in?”
No answer came from Miss Colleen's mouth, instead, she
stood up from her cozy armchair, and walked to the shelf that
contained different kinds of items that looked like witchcraft tools.
The big wooden shelf on the far left side of the room suddenly drew
their attention. Miss Colleen walked straight to a blue-green sphere
made out of glass that looked like a globe in the middle of the case.
She picked it up and felt the weight of that strange globe before
she returned to her seat.
“You really don’t know where you kid is?”, asked the old
lady, leaving the couple speechless. “Let me show you where he
is."
At the moment, everything turned black. A pair of ocean
blue eyes were staring at four big eyes that were filled with love.
A newborn was lying in the beige crib with hanging seashells and
a teddy bear beside him. Other toys and clothes were still scattered
and placed lubberly on the floor. The room and the wallpaper
looked brand new as the Browns had just moved in a few days
ago. Even though there were many things still left to do at the new
house including unpacking boxes and installing furniture, the
young couple seemed to neglect those and focused only on their
son who was now giggling in the crib. “Peek-A-Boo,” the baby’s
mom kept saying. Thirty minutes had passed, and the parents of
the child were still playing Peek-A-Boo. In less than a minute, the
little angel started to cry. His dad quickly picked him up and held
him tight, rocking him comfortably until he fell asleep.
