behaved and stayed out of trouble. Whenever he felt a little insecure
without his parents, he would walk over to Miss Colleen's house.
She had always been kind to him. On several occasions when his
parents leave him unannounced, Eddie would stay with her. Her
house was full of snacks and games for him to play. Miss Colleen
was fun and chatty. Before long, she became one of Eddie’s best
friends that he could talk to about anything. Sometimes they spent
all night watching movies, or listening to the story of Miss Colleen’s
childhood.
The days without parents happened more and more often.
Eddie talked less and less to his parents, probably once a day
before bedtime. His parents were completely absorbed with their
work. The business for curing asthma was their priority. However,
the only child to this successful business wanted his parents to
have him as their priority. He began to feel like no one loved him
except Miss Colleen. Every night he would take out the fluffy teddy
bear, a bear that he got as a present since the first day he entered
into this world, and shared his daily events with it instead. This cute
teddy bear would become his other confidant listening to all his
daily woes or joys.
Matthew and Nova Brown saw their every movement and
noticed their every point of view through Ms. Colleen’s blue-green
sphere. Seeing themselves reminded them of how awful they are
as parents.
Then, the pictures sped up to the day Eddie ran away from
the house, and it was very rare to find a picture of all the Browns
sitting at the dining table having a meal. If there was, nothing much
