1. (a) (i) Diode / Diod
(ii) The power supply is the alternating current.
When the current from the positive voltage cycle, the current will flow through the diode and
back to the negative terminal of voltage
When the current is from the negative cycle, the current cannot flow through the diode which is
reverse bias to the current flow.
Diode can only allow current to flow in one direction with the waveform shown by CRO.
Bekalan kuasa adalah arus ulang-alik.
Apabila arus dibekalkan dari kitaran voltan positif, arus mengalir melalui diod dan kembali ke
terminal negatif voltan.
Apabila arus dibekalkan dari kitaran voltan negatif, arus tidak dapat mengalir melalui diod
yang berpincang sonsang kepada aliran arus.
Diod hanya membenarkan arus mengalir dalam satu arah seperti dalam bentuk gelombang
yang ditunjukkan pada OSK.
(b) (i) As an automatic switch / Sebagai suis automatik

(iv) Potential difference across YZ = × 6 V

= 2 V
