BOARDROOM

PMA Indigency Skin Clinic

s part of its efforts to give back, PDS recently partnered with the
Philippine Medical Association (PMA) for the creation of the
APMA-PDS Indigency Skin Clinic.

The PMA Indigency Clinic is a health care facility offering medical
services and care for economically disadvantaged individuals for free
or at nominal cost. Medical staff a patient will encounter are volunteers
drawn from specialty and affiliate societies of the PMA. In the past years,
an increased prevalence of skin diseases were encountered in the area.
According to Dr. Teresita N. Agda, chairman of the Indigency Clinic, due
to a lack of expertise, they would reluctantly refer dermatologic cases to
nearby hospitals.

PDS accepted the challenge and forged a collaboration with PMA to
create the PMA-PDS Indigency Skin Clinic. PDS, as part of its Outreach
Programs, will now man the newly created skin clinic on a regular basis.
This would immensely improve the health service capabilities of the clinic
