Overall, it was a wonderful intellectual gathering with generous sharing
of experience and knowledge on laser and energy based procedures
amongst PDS laser users and members. We look forward to seeing even
more PDS members in our next annual meeting.

A few of Treatment Pearls that were shared:
        • Pulsed dye laser (PDL) for scars:
           1. Use the PDL immediately after suture removal.
           2. In treating keloids, inject intralesional corticosteroids before Industry Partner Sponsors: DermAsia Corporation, BTL Aesthetics, Medev Medical Devices
treating with the PDL. Corp, Creative Skin MedEquip Inc, Merz Philippines Healthcare Inc. (in no particular order)
        • PDL for Port Wine Stains:
           1. Start treatment as early as possible since vessels are less ecstatic.
           2. PWS on extremities respond less dramatically than facial lesions.
        • PDL for infantile hemangiomas:
           1. Consider medical therapy for proliferative hemangionas, then do
                PDL for colour correction.
           2. PDL has become the laser of choice for superficial hemangiomas.
        • Long Pulsed Nd:YAG for Keloids:
           - LP Nd:YAG may be done every 4 weeks, using focused mode, 2-3 passes.
        • Nd:YAG Laser for Onychomycosis:
           - The laser energy is turned into heat energy, absorbed by the
pigment in the fungal wall destroying the fungal colony, and
producing shock waves destroying proteins in the fungal wall.
PDS Laser Subspecialty Core Working Group: (L-R) Drs. Leah Martires,
           - It will require several sessions and can be repeated every 2-3 Mitch Carlos-Tanchiong, Corinne Tiu-Dy, Trixie Carpo, Via Marquez-Protacio,
              weeks. Tricia Manlongat-Malahito
