        Projectile:

An object thrown into space or atmosphere such that it moves under the effect of

        gravity alone is called projectile.

For example: A stone thrown from certain height

A bomb dropped from the aero plane etc.

Trajectory: The path followed by a projectile is called trajectory.

Case A: A projectile thrown horizontally from certain height.

               Consider a projectile thrown
horizontally from the top of tower with

initial velocity u. let h be the height of
the tower. The projectile has two types
of motion at the same time.

            • Horizontal motion which is
               uniform (a = 0)

            • Vertical motion which is
               accelerated ( a = g)

        Equation of path:

Let P be the position of projectile at any time t. Here, it has covered horizontal
distance x and vertical distance y.

                                                                1
                                                                     2
        For horizontal motion: = +
                                                                2
                                                    = … … … ( )

                                                                1
                                                                     2
        For vertical motion: = +
                                                                2
                                                       1
                                                             2
                                                 , = … … … ( )
                                                       2
