                                            After dinner, we embarked on our firefly-spotting
                                       mission. Upstream, we saw a bush completely alight with

                                            The next day, we hiked up the trails to the Botanical
                                       Gardens, looking out for butterflies and birds, exploring

                                       UNESCO heritage site. We set off for the Poring Hot
                                       Springs famous for its 40-metre high Canopy Walkway.
                                            After lunch, we went off in search of the famous
                                       endangered Rafflesia flower and the pitcher plant. We
               •  Rafflesia Flower     found specially tended plants. The Rafflesia is the world’s
                 and Pitcher Plant     largest rarest flower, with a distinctive odour, lasting only
                                       two to three days. The “periuk kera” has a pitcher able
                                       to hold up to 3.5 litres of liquid.
