             sentences (A – H) to fit each gap. There are two extra sentences which you do not need to
             use.


                 Gawai Dayak, also known as  Hari Gawai, is an extensive celebration especially for

                 the Iban and Bidayuh people of the Dayak community.       1.    F   . It is celebrated

                 during this time as it signifies the end of the harvest season.   2.  C  .

                        3.    H   . Preparations for the big day start with the brewing of tuak – a form
                 of rice wine.   4.    E   . Then, a few days before Gawai, traditional food such as

                 cakes made from rice flour are prepared.   5.    B   . On the eve of the celebrations,

                 a dish of glutinous rice cooked in bamboo is also prepared. Other preparations include

                 a ranyai tree, which is a tree, often a nipah tree or other trees with plenty of leaves and

                 ceremonies on the evening of the eve.
