English Year 6 Grammar
Concrete nouns refer to actual things that we can touch, see, taste, feel and hear. They
can also be countable, uncountable, common, proper and collective nouns.

具体名词是指我们可以触碰、看见、品尝、感觉或听见的实际物体。这些名词可以是可
数或不可数、普通或专有以及集合名词。

Abstract nouns refer to things that we cannot see, touch, hear, smell or taste. Many abstract
nouns are uncountable. They are often feelings, ideas, emotions or concepts.

Collective nouns are nouns that refer to groups of people, animals or things. They are taken
together and spoken of as one whole. Examples of collective nouns include ‘an army of
ants’, ‘a bouquet of f owers’ and ‘a brood of chickens’.
集合名词是指一组人物、动物或事物。这些名词必须以群体的形式呈现。“an army of
ants”“a bouquet of flowers”和“a brood of chickens”都是集合名词。

Partitive nouns are nouns that refer to a part or quantity of something. They are used with
uncountable nouns. Examples of partitive nouns include ‘a bar of chocolate’, ‘a bag of
f our’ and ‘a cloud of dust’.
表量名词是指某件事物的一部分或数量。这些名词都必须配合不可数名词一起使用。“a
bar of chocolate”“a bag of flour” 和“a cloud of dust”都是表量名词。
