                     The Simple Present Tense



                    The simple present tense is used:           Subject        Verb           Example
                    ( i)  to show a repeated or habitual action.  I
                        e.g. Nina goes to bed at ten every night.

                     The Simple Past Tense



                 The simple past tense is used to show an action
                 that began and ended in the past.
                 e.g. I washed and dried the dishes just now.
