Festival

On the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, the Chinese celebrate the Mid-
autumn or the Mooncake Festival. It is also called the Lantern Festival.

Pek Suan and her family celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival with their relatives and friends.
After they have their prayers, they enjoy a feast. There is a lot of delicious food. Pek Suan eats
some mooncakes too.

After that, Pek Suan, her siblings and cousins light their lanterns. Her lantern is a rabbit. The
others have butterf y, panda and carp lanterns. Then, they join other families who are carrying
lanterns around the neighbourhood.
