What's New for 2018-2019 Benefits

TRS ActiveCare 2 Plan: TRS has closed new enrollment into the TRS
ActiveCare 2 plan effective September 1, 2018. Employees currently
enrolled in the plan for the 2017-2018 plan year may remain on the
plan and may enroll new dependents during Open Enrollment. No new
enrollments into this plan will be allowed during the Open Enrollment
period.

TRS ActiveCare Select Plan: Great news! TRS has extended the network
availability for employees who reside in Galveston and Brazoria counties. Effective September 1, 2018
all Harris, Galveston and Brazoria county residents will now be able to choose between the Memorial
Hermann Whole Health Network or the KelseyCare network. Employees may also move to the
ActiveCare 1-HD plan which allows broader in-network provider choices.

Emergency Room Co-Pay Increases: ActiveCare Select and ActiveCare 2 co-pays for ER visits have
increased to $250.

Freestanding Emergency Rooms: Participants in all three plans will now pay a $500 copay per visit
plus 20% after the deductible when visiting a freestanding emergency room. All plan participants are
encouraged to utilize in-network urgent care facilities for after-hours non-emergent medical needs or
seek treatment from in-network hospital emergency rooms in the event of a true medical emergency.

New Life and Disability Carrier: CCISD’s life and disability carrier will change from Sunlife to Voya
effective September 1, 2018.

Health Advocate: All plan enrollees and their dependents will now have access to assistance with
claims issues, provider searches and more. 1
