Install Genero Report Engine
These topics relate to the installation of the Genero Report Engine.
If you do not have a valid maintenance key for Genero, you must license Genero Report Writer.

System Requirements
Before installing the Genero Report Engine, ensure that your system meets the minimum system
requirements.

Supported Operating Systems
The Genero Report Engine (GRE) is supported on a variety of operating systems.
For a detailed list of supported operating systems, refer to the System Support matrix (available on the
Four Js Web site in the product and documentation download area) or contact your support center. This
matrix also informs you which operating systems will no longer be supported as of the next release.

Java runtime environment
The Genero Report Engine (GRE) requires Java JRE 1.6 or above.

It is strongly recommended to use a Sun (Oracle) or a IBM JVM.
Open JDK and other free JVMs are currently not supported.
Tip: Please check the release notes for the most current information regarding Java JRE support.
The release notes are GRE_DIR/release/readme.txt.
Install Genero Report Engine on UNIX platforms
Follow these steps to install Genero Report Engine on Gnu/Linux and UNIX.
1. Type the following command to start the installation:
$ sh fjs-gre-version-build-osident.run
Example:
$ sh fjs-gre-2.50.03-build127148-l64xl24.run
2. Follow the instructions provided on the screen.

instructions.
