60. Important Manuscript: Compilation of
Novellae, Speeches and Annotations from
an Anonymous Lithuanian Scholar
Long manuscript handwritten by an anonymous scholar
who was clearly well-versed in both Torah and general
knowledge.
It includes explanations on Nevi'im and Kesuvim, sayings
of Chazal and novellae.
The anonymous author mentions the names of his other
sefarim and regrets the fact that he lives in a place with too ‫ובמקום אחד מזכיר שהא כבר 'זקן ורפה ידים' פה ושם הוא מביא‬
few sefarim. He also mentions that he is already "old and
weak". He sporadically quotes thoughts from the sages of
Lithuania and quotes from the Vilna Gaon.
It is obvious that the author was a tremendous scholar of
great stature .
