Example 3.2
A pile trestle shown on figure 3-3 consists of four vertical piles surmounted by a
2.2m thick pile cap. It carries a horizontal load applied to the surface of the cap
of 400kN. The only vertical load exerted on the pile group is the weight of the pile
cup. Determine the loads on the piles.
