Sweety Roy
The saplings have to be watered, There are days when; Powercuts and net issues,
I must run to the gate, Loneliness is what I witness. Are truly a pain.
I’m expecting milk and groceries, Can any thermometer, If data is not saved,
I hope it’s not too late! Measure my homesickness? Hard work goes down the drain!
The clothes are to be washed, I’m yet to call my parents; Oh! I gotta send an email,
Then there’s the ironing too. They must be worried, I figured! I really can’t bemoan!
The bills need to be paid, Also, must feed the dogs, This is life in pandemic,
There’s just so much to do! As they too, are scared. As we all work from home.
The scorching sun is a killer, There are dishes yet to do; Yet, we cheer for Facebook,
There’s a deadline to meet. I’ll get around to wash. And hugely applaud Accenture.
The cooker whistles to rush me, The painting remains unfinished, For supporting their employees,
Dusting and mopping is incomplete. Needs a few more strokes of brush. And ensuring their safe future.
I join the conference call, I’ll defrost the freezer, Let us all stay safe and indoors,
Using my mobile phone. If I get a little time! Until we receive further notice.
So everyone knows that; But I’m watching Netflix, Hope to see you all soon,
I’m working from home. As well as Hotstar and Prime. When we resume working from office!
PUBG, Ludo and Monopoly, Meetings and fun Fridays;
Are the saviours in disguise, Mostly keep me sane,
To do away with boredom, As I buddy up with;
Is now life’s advise! Colleagues-turned-friends.
