A Ray of Hope
Afreen Islam Sarkar
Last night I saw a falling star, I saw a world where We can turn dreams
And I made a wish Girls would be treated To reality
As equals to boys And yes!
I wished with all my heart And they too would have “We” need to bring about change
For a world where people An equal voice Just “I” alone cannot do it
Are kind, A ray of hope shines
Where there is unity- Oh! How different it was from In my heart
And no one is judged The REAL world, In a safer world
By religion, case or creed. The one in which we live. We could all live happily
I wished with all my heart, I felt like keeping my eyes So let us join hands
With my eyes closed Forever shut! And bring about change
And saw the world of my dreams But alas, I knew very well, And brighten up this light
Oh! How different it was from It would not do. Called “hope”
The one in which we live Trust me this will make
Deep in my heart however, The world a better place.
I saw a world where people I do believe,
Lived happily and selflessly This wish is not just mine,
Without jealousy or greed. It’s the wish of millions,
This wish for a better world,
To the poor and the needy, A world where women would
Kind treatment and love Be safe and happy
No one hesitated to give… Where they would not be considered
Weaker than men
I saw a world where, Where people of every religion
Talent, and not beauty, Would have equal rights
Was considerd an asset. In my heart the hope,
Of change,
Where people knew the Always does shine!
True meaning of
BROTHERHOOD
No criticism, no bullying,
And where everyone believed
There is some reason to live…
