Let’s play Spelling Contest.
To the teacher:
• Divide the whole class into five groups.
• Get the students to select the group captain.
• Make a list of twenty plus a few words.
• Conduct the contest in reduction system. First pronounce the word and ask each
team to spell it turn wise.
• Give twenty points for each group in the beginning. Reduce one point for a wrong
spelling or no-attempt.
• Allow thirty seconds time for the first group and twenty seconds for the rest.
• The team with the least reduction will be the winner.
• Invite the principal/vice principal to declare the winner and reward.
