Read the biography of Mother Teresa and do the activities.
Mother Teresa was born in Skopje,
Macedonia on August 27, 1910 as
Agnes Gonsha Bojaxhiu. She was the
last of three children born to Nicola
and Dranafile Bojaxhiu. She attended
a public school in Skopje and was
interested in religion from the school
time. By the age of twelve she had felt
that she needed to help the poor.
When she was eighteen, Mother Teresa
left home to join a group of Irish nuns who had a religious mission
in India. She, then came to India and worked as the teacher
of a Christian School in
Kolkata. In Kolkata she saw
many poor, unschooled
children and orphans. She
left her job as the principal
of a school and started
to collect and teach the
unschooled children and
orphans.
