took me to the car. He also promised to come to see my dance
in the inter-school dance competition. Dawa, our family driver

dropped us to the stage in papa’s car.

This was the first time I had reached the final of the inter-school
dance competition. There were five other contestants besides

me. We went backstage and Ms. Shakya got me to put on my

costume. I was going to perform a semi classical dance. The

announcer said my name and when I was in the stage papa and
mama were there to cheer. I felt a new wave of inspiration.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I was declared the champion.
I thanked everybody after I collected the trophy and the cash

of Rs. 20,000. The principal of my school, my parents and

choreographer congratulated me. I was almost flying when the

principal said, “The school is proud of you, Shina.” We got back

home at 6.30 pm. I received a few phone calls and messages of
congratulation. We had our dinner at 9.30 and went to bed.

This was my first ever prize in this level. The prize and the day

are very special to me.
