3 Grammar Time
3.1. Read the following sentences.
a. Rewat is a teacher. Sujan is also a teacher.
Rewat is a teacher and so is Sujan.
b. Resham wore a red shirt.
Dhiren wore a red shirt too.
Resham wore a red shirt and so did Dhiren.
c. Red Pandas live in Sagarmatha National Park.
Snow leopards also live there.
Red pandas live in Sagarmatha National Park
and so do snow leopards.
d. Donald did not take part in cleaning. Harish did not do it either.
Donald did not take part in cleaning and neither did Harish.
e. Bandana won’t practice tennis anymore. Sunina will not
practice either.
Bandana won’t practice tennis anymore and neither will
Sunina.
We use so + aux + noun/pronoun to show an agreement in a positive case.
We use neither/nor + aux + noun/pronoun to show an agreement in a
negative case.
3.2. Write the following sentences using the above structures as
shown in the example.
Example :
Kritika dived into a deep pool. (Prerana)
Kritika dived into a deep pool and so did Prerana.
a. Sonakshi had given a strong performance in
Dabang. (Salman)
