                     Pathophysiology














                     Thrombosis occurs according to the Virchow Triad, which is a combination of

                     changes in blood flow, injury to the walls of blood vessels and changes in
                     blood content.







                     1.      Changes in Blood Flow

                             Lack of mobility such as after surgery, pregnancy, obesity







                     2.      Injuries To The Walls Of Blood Vessels

                             An example of an injury to the walls of a blood vessel is hypertension
