Patient Position for Thoracentesis

There are 3 positions chosen to perform the
thoracentesis procedure, depending on the patient's

condition, they are:-

1. The patient sits on the bed.

• The patient sits at the end of the bed with his legs

propped up with a chair where his head is rested on
a cardiac table with a pillow.
