Patient Position for Thoracentesis

3. The patient lay on the bed.

• This position is more for patients who are helpless or
critically ill.

• The patient lies on the unaffected part by exposing it

and the head of the bed is elevated approximately to

the semi -Fowler position so that the patient is more
comfortable.
