Institute for Competitiveness and Foreign Trade of Nuevo Laredo
I highly recommend reading this Binational Handbook, that exemplifies the potential in all the sections of the
most important regions of America. This effort of the Municipal Government of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas
through the Institute for Competitiveness and Foreign Trade of Nuevo Laredo ICCE, allows to boost and promote
the integral development of Tamaulipas and Mexico.

y la Competitividad del Estado de Tamaulipas
The North American Foreign Trade Agreement, better known as NAFTA, in 1994 started a new age in the industrial
development of Mexico, United States and Canada, by positioning them as the bigger commercial block of the
world. Due to this agreement, the economy of the three countries during the last twenty four years have achieve
to improve their productivity and competitiveness in a global level. Even though the result of this merging has
been a commercial advantage for the three countries, the same has unravelled in Laredo, Texas and Nuevo
Laredo, Tamaulipas, an explosion in development and a new field of opportunities. Therefore, the Chamber of
Commerce of Laredo, Texas during the last two decades has been one of the largest advocates of the treaty,
looking to achieve the greater benefits for the local industry.
The geographic location of these two cities offers to any investor, either in logistics, transportation and even
retail commerce, the key point to establish a business within the main corridor that unites the most important
markets in Mexico, United States and Canada.
This binational handbook shows the collaboration that exists between the agencies that work consistently for
the improvement and development of Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas “NAFTA’s most important
Commercial Crossing.”.
