In this workshop hosted by veteran educators from
SFUSD's June Jordan School for Equity, participants will
explore the role trust and vulnerability play in
powerful classroom teaching that builds community
and creates an environment for safety and connection.
It is the role of teachers to support students in making
connections with each other as a vehicle to deeper
learning. Participants will learn from veteran
educators what it takes to build a culture in the
classroom where students feel safe to share their
thoughts, dreams, fears and hopes for themselves and
the world.
Learning Outcomes:
Explore the research on relationships in the
classroom
Learn strategies for building powerful
relationships with students
