    It is essential for youth and children to be involved in
    social movements, not simply learn about them in
    classrooms. History has taught us that action is the
    only way to bring about change. In this workshop,
    participants will learn about successful efforts to
    defund Oakland School Police and create Sanctuary
    Schools for Black Students. We will explore the
    importance of grassroots organizing and student-
    teacher solidarity in interrupting the pre-school to
    prison pipeline.
