In this workshop we will share an overview of parents
of children with disabilities’ experiences and
perspectives and how professional can engage parents.
Objectives
• Increase knowledge of the family experience
• Increase knowledge regarding communication
• Increase their knowledge of how to engage families
Learning Outcomes:
Family involvement is a significant factor in improving
educational out- comes. The family makes critical
contributions to student achievement from the earliest
childhood years through high school, and efforts to improve
children's outcomes are much more effective when the family
is actively involved.
