Unbeknownst to past-me, that door led to a grand cathedral. The walk from
the hall to the throne took a few agonisingly long minutes, and upon reaching
the bottom of the stairs I realised that there was a figure standing behind
the throne, back turned. It was an elven lady, tall and proud with a face
that portrays no emotion. She beckoned me to the top of the stairs, and
informed me that I will be faced with a few trials, and judge the people that
come before me. She said that my choices will have very real consequences. I
accepted.
The two knights who brought forth the first person wore rose emblems, one
silver and the other red.
