Transforming REAL kids into REAL
followers of Jesus.
How many Kings stepped down from their thrones, how many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts
to romance a world that is torn all apart, How many fathers gave up their sons for me? Only one did
that for me. This is part of a song from Down here and Shawn McDonald . I encourage you to look
it up on youtube. It envelops the true meaning of Christmas. What a great, loving, kind God we
have. There are still struggles and mountains in our life. Yes, that is true. But, God is walking that
road with us. Hold on to that hope. Hold on to his peace. Hold on to his wisdom. Hold on to
trusting him. Give him your hand and hold tight. I am a visual person and I saw a picture on
facebook of Jesus kneeling in front of a little girl who was holding on tight to her little teddy bear.
Jesus was reaching out his one arm asking for her to give it to him. She looked determined to hold
her little teddy bear. She could not see, but with his other arm hidden behind his back he had a
HUGE teddy bear he wanted to give her. We are like that little girl holding on to what we have (even
our struggles) and Jesus is saying “ give it to me, I have something better for you”. Let’s give him our
hearts every day, a hundred times a day. That is all he wants from us. What a gift we have to give
him this Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all the days of our lifes.

As you know, the original date, Saturday, October 26 had to be cancelled due to bad weather and
we were miraculously able to move it to the next day with many, if not more, trunks participating.
The families were lined up against the building at 1:40 patiently waiting for us to be ready at 2:00.
Pastor Marc and his crew made 600 hot dogs for this event. We had 500 in attendance and people
were grateful for the hot dogs and the friendly trunks giving their children candy. Children played
on the playground, they went on the Savoy fire truck, families and friends visited in the eating area,
and all the “Savoy information bags” were passed out to parents as they stopped by that table on
their way to the trunks. Prayer requests were given and are already being prayed for. Special thanks
to Pastor Marc & his family, Sam and Savoy Fire station, Briana and Zach, Leeann Smith, Vera Maase
and all the trunkers and all the donators of candy. Reminds me of words to a song, “Holy Spirit you
are welcome here, come fill this place and …”
