United Methodist Women —Thank you so much to all who worshiped with us and stayed for the lunch and
                                     th
activities as we observed the 150 anniversary of United Methodist Women. All those salads were delicious and the
“goodie” walk seemed to be enjoyed by all ages. We will enjoy delivering all the “birthday” gifts you generously
donated to the Crisis Nursery and empty tomb. On Saturday, September 28 was our district’s annual meeting in
Tuscola with a representation of 10 from Savoy. The story of the Blessing Baskets made by the women of Ghana was
shared and those attending had the opportunity to purchase some of those beautiful works of art. The next regular
meeting of UMW will be Wednesday, October 9 at 9 am with Anita Althaus, Donna Brinegar and Mary Hackl serving
as hostesses. District representatives to Cunningham Children’s Home, Bobby Walker and Roberta Benschneider, will
be our guest speakers with their reports on the great things going on at Cunningham. Officers will need to be chosen
for 2020 at this meeting. This is the last month to add to your World Thank Offering. We will bring them to the
November meeting. As always anyone interested in attending one of our gatherings is most welcome. We would be
happy to add more chairs around the tables.
