Food Pantry News for June
Volunteers Making a Difference
WOW! On Monday, May 13, our food pantry was blessed with food
collected by Savoy Postal Workers in their annual USPS food drive. We are
so grateful for their work in organizing the collection and then actually
picking up the food from the homes where they deliver mail—all of this in
addition to their regular duties as Postal Workers. And the Savoy
community was so very generous in their contributions of food! It left us
with a wonderful dilemma—how to get all of it from the Savoy Post Office
and onto the shelves of our food pantry so we can get it out to those in
need? Several volunteers came to the rescue! We hauled the food to the
church, sorted it outside on tables, and then stocked it onto the food
pantry shelves, which are now loaded up with groceries. It was an
amazing afternoon! We are so thankful for the service of those who make
this food ministry possible. Check out the photos!
Food Pantry Needs
No food shopping list for June! However, any $$ contributions would sure be appreciated. If
you’re wishing to donate, just note “Food Pantry” on an envelope with your contribution, and
place it in the collection plate on Sunday.
Help wanted! Please consider volunteering time (about an hour per delivery) to help deliver
food. We can easily partner you up with another volunteer, and you can usually arrange the
delivery time around your schedule. Give Deb Foertsch a ring if you’re interested. 649-2352.
Please continue to support the work of this ministry with your prayers.
