Mission Team

Baby Shower and Bottle Drive - Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center
Thank you to all who have donated items for our Baby Shower, or turned in baby bottles full of change to benefit this
valuable ministry in our community. We will continue to collect these items through Father’s Day, June 16. A list of
suggested Baby Shower items can be found on the welcome center in the church foyer. You will also find there a
collection of handmade cards that can be given to share that a you have made a gift to honor a loved one.

Bazaar
Plans are forming now to host a craft fair at Savoy UMC on Saturday, September 14. If you are interested in having a
space to sell items, please contact the office. We are also looking for individuals to help in organizational
efforts. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Cindy Cook, Jodi Maggio, Juanita
Gammon, or Glynis Barker.

Missionaries
Through the missions budget , Savoy UMC is supporting two missionaries. Robin Gregory is involved in Bible
translation work in Tanzania, and Bill Erickson works with local Christian families to build meaningful friendships with
international students at U of I who have likely never heard the Gospel in their native countries.
In a recent email from Robin, she shared that, "We think that stuff -- the pouring out of miracles -- only happened in
Biblical times, but the truth is, they are happening today, and have been happening through the ages. They aren't
written down like all the famous "Biblical" miracles, but these people in Tanzania, receiving God's word in their
language -- the language he gave them -- is worthy of a spot on the unwritten timeline. I'm honored to be doing this
particular work for the Body of Christ. And again, I thank you so much for entrusting me with it, and for entrusting
me with your financial resources. “
You will have the opportunity to welcome Bill Erickson as he comes to speak in worship this summer and learn more
about what he does and how we can join in his ministry to spread the love of Jesus around the world by ministering
to students in our own community.

Unity West
Savoy UMC helped students and teachers celebrate the end of the school year by providing volunteers, watermelon,
and water for the school’s Fun Day! Look for more information about how you can be involved in our partnership
with this school next year!

All-Church Mission Project - June 30
On Sunday, June 30, after one service at 10:00am, the Missions Committee will host an all church mission
project. Mark your calendar and plan to join us as we serve together!
