Transforming REAL kids into REAL

                                                                           followers of Jesus.

                                          CHILDREN’S MINISTRY JUNE NEWSLETTER

So much to be thankful for! God is moving people’s hearts and hands to share the love of Jesus with our children.
That sounds so simple. Like, of course, our children are important and they need to know about Jesus. But, do you
and I really get it? This is more than Sunday school, and VBS, and children’s programs. This is going to the “red”
letters in the Bible. When the disciples were pushing the children AWAY from Jesus, the Bible says Jesus was
INDIGNANT. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God

belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will
      never enter it.”

The definition of indignant is “feeling of showing anger or annoyance at what is perceived as unfair judgment”.

If Jesus spoke about the children this way, we should take it seriously. When we are a church family, we are ALL
responsible for growing all of His children up in His Word. I am reminded also of this responsibility. Do the
children see Jesus in me? In you? Do we take time to talk to them and LISTEN and engage? Do we cheer them on
in the way they should go? Because if we do not the world will.

Read Bible stories to them at home, ask them questions about what they heard. Have a devotional book for them
that will talk about hard times when they are hurting and how they are able to cheer on and encourage others.
Guide them to the Word of God in all situations. Teach them the miracles right before their eyes. In nature, in
people helping others, in getting through the storms of life, etc. Pray and bless them. Teach them to pray. Let
them lead in prayer. God loves US no matter what. Just as we are. Mad, depressed, despaired, frustrated, lost….

His love NEVER changes and we can always trust Him and He will always hear us and help us. Let’s make it a point
to reach out to the children and youth that come through these doors with the red letters!
