BIODATA
Dr Yusmini Md Yusoff
Dr Yusmini Md. Yusoff is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of
Da’wah and Human Development, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of
Malaya. She has a Bachelor in Islamic Education, University of Malaya, and
later was trained in the area of guidance and counselling at Master and
Doctorate level. Respectively both degrees are from the National University
of Malaysia (UKM) and the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
Her interests are mostly related to human development specifically around
integrative psychology and counselling with holistic approaches to Islamic and
modern frameworks.
She is a lifetime member of PERKAMA International a non-profit organization
that officially representing professional counsellors in various practice
settings and plays a crucial role as the driving force for professional
counselling in Malaysia.
Her research areas are mainly on developing da’wah and helping
relationships’ models emphasizing on vulnerable groups such as people with
disabilities, gender disorders, homelessness, family at risk and the elderly.
