During my school years, I never really enjoyed a book as much as when I read it in English. And then the connection became more vivid. I grew up
loving what I saw my teachers do. They simply made learning meaningful and so easily approachable. I realized that language was so critical because
being able to successfully communicate one’s thoughts made one unique.
When it was time for me to choose a major, I had no doubt I wanted to become a teacher, an instructor and a mentor. However, I wanted to do more
than that and I still do.
I ended up majoring in English Education at Seoul National University seeking to make a difference in the educational system. My views have not
changed. Habit 9 has offered that platform to make my biggest desire come true. I get to engage with passionate students who use their second
language as a tool to master the arts of communication, deliberation and interaction. Every day, I witness these students take a step closer to their
grandest ambitions in life. And someday, not so far from now, I know that I will witness with pride and gratification, how each of them will make their
own contributions to the world and their surroundings. I cannot wait for that moment to come true. So today I do my very best to guide each of my
students to that path. I am overwhelmed with the honorable title they give me as they call me their teacher.
