Biodegradable/non-biodegradable Waste
By Aaron and Jalen
Biodegradable materials can break
down in nature in a reasonable time period.
Apple cores , banana peels, coffee grounds,
paper towels, toilet paper, newspaper, junk
mail, paper plates and cups, clothing and
towels are biodegradable but some can take
more time than others. Bacteria and fungi
cause them to break down.
Non-biodegradable waste does not break
down easily. Styrofoam and glass bottles
take forever to break down and plastic jugs
take a million years. Non-biodegradable
waste will seep into our water and some
time soon it will get our water dirty and
pollute it and when we drink it it’s not going
to taste good and it will make us sick.
