                             Thekkummoodu Bund Colony

The destruction and struggle brought by the rain and
the associated natural calamities like landslides during
the month of August 2018 was not less than a disaster.
The major challenges as part of the rebuilding Kerala
after the 2018 flood is rebuilding the livelihood options
particularly of the economically poor without much
technical skills, savings or assets. VMFT has raised
some funds to support the flood affected people of the
          Thekkummoodu Bund Colony.

           • Provided rice and stationery materials for around
100 households living on both sides of the canal
          • Conducted a survey of families living on both sides
of the canal to assess the basic profile of people living
          • A brief description of the residents was prepared

          In the second stage,
          • The Trust donated an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs to the
          Chief Minister’s disaster management fund.
          • Maintenance of a flood affected house was

          • We received a donation of items like, soap,
disinfectants, clothes for children, towels, brush, paste
etc. We sent those things to one of the most flood
          affected areas in Alappuzha district.

          In the third stage,
          • With the objective of empowering the youth, two
