Women Empowerment: Training for women in
Home electrical maintenance
Vakkom Moulavi Foundation Trust along with The expert panel for trainers included eminent
LMAG of IEEE Kerala, Archana Women’s Centre, academicians and practitioners like Prof.
Energy Management Centre & IEEE Kerala PES V. K. Damodaran, Er. A. Suhair, Er. Madhu
organised a 3 day training programme for women Krishnan, Er. Rajagopal Achari, Er. B. Sasi
in maintaining household electrical system at Mattom and Sri. Sabu Devasya. It provided
Archana Women’s Centre Ettumanoor on June 27- hands-on training for a small group of trainees

A total of 20 women were trained. The training
was given in electricity fundamentals, circuits and
sources, solar, home electric set up, MCB, ELCB,
equipment faults, electric shock safe working,
energy cost tariff conservation, standards gadgets
demo, electrical wiring how & practical, electrical
wiring practical, 2 circuit assembly practical,
assembling LED bulb and assembling LED tube.
