STUDENT MOVEMENT
AS A PLURAL
SOCIETY
The pressure group comprising of mature, fresh, and enthusiastic
students function as a monitor of the position and policies of the
government. Exposing their learning and living environments
inspired students to champion local and international problems.
Educational centers as places of the assembly will unite diverse
identities of students with the same ideas and hardships.
Students used the chance to become a new pressure group to
uphold rights for the marginalized when there were squatters in
Tasik Utara in 1974. Besides, students even made their way to
the Selangor Club during the Baling Demonstrations in 1974. The
demonstration by the citizens of Baling was attributed to
inflation. They encouraged the government to lower food prices
and other necessities.
