       Installing a sensor conduit
Each of our thermostats come with a 1.8m length
of sensor conduit in the box. Install the sensor
conduit to ensure the temperature sensor probe
can be removed and replaced at a later date,
       should the need arise.
Some installers prefer to install a second SENSOR INSTALLED
temperature sensor as a spare and leave it BETWEEN 2
disconnected. You can purchase an additional HEATING CABLES
sensor probe using the stock code 5266 (Pg. 49).

       Accurate sensor position

The floor temperature sensor should be
installed in an area that accurately represents
       the temperature of the floor.
Sensors should not be installed near external
temperature influences such as hot or cold
water pipes, other heating applications or large
glazed elevations prone to heat loss. Doing so
can influence the temperature readings and
cause your thermostat to adjust the heating Timber floor and cavity wall Concrete floor and solid wall
to compensate resulting in irregular heating
       behavior that could be expensive.

An ideal position for the floor temperature
sensor is close to an interior door way as these
       areas are usually kept clear.

Can you shorten a heating cable? CONDUITS CAN BE
                                                                     USED FOR COLD
No! The heating cables should never be cut or
shortened. If you do accidentally cut or damage TAIL LEADS TOO
the heating cable it can be repaired, but please
call our technical team on 1300 368 631
before attempting any repairs. The black cold
       tail cable may be shortened.

Do I need to earth the system?
Yes! The earth should be connected to the
earth terminal in the back of a back box and
the system connected to an RCD protected
circuit. It is the electricians responsibility to
ensure that all electrical work is fully compliant
       with the latest local regulations.

Can I extend the cold tail?

Yes! The low profile cold tail connections can
be extended with a standard 1.5mm twin core
flex. We always recommend that connections
are accessible. Floor sensors can also be
       extended up to 50m.
