f Pohela Boishakh, also known as Bengali New Year, is the traditional New Year day of the Bengali people.
The festival date is set according to the lunisolar Bengali calendar as the first day of its first month
Baishakh. However, the festival falls on April 14 or April 15 every year in India.
f Himachal Day is observed on 15th April in Himachal Pradesh. The state became a full-fledged state on
this day. Four districts of Mandi, Chamba, Mahasu and Sirmour were integrated with over two dozen
princely states, leading to the formation of Himachal Pradesh as a Union Territory in 1948. Decades later,
in 1971, Himachal Pradesh became the 18th state in India with Shimla as its capital.
f Punjab State reiterated the commitment of the State to achieve the 'Har Ghar Jal' target by 2022 as
planned. Punjab has 34.73 lakh rural household, out of which 25.88 lakh (74.5%) have tap water supply.
f The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently released the first tranche of Rs 672
crores under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme for the year 2021-22. This reimbursed the fees for
10.88 lakh students. So far, a total of Rs 4, 879 crores have been disbursed under the Jagananna Vidya
Deevena Scheme.
f The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is the first party that has declared the name of the entity which made
donations to it through electoral bonds. A declaration of a 1 crore donation was made in the party's
2019-20 contribution report.
f A team of scientists have discovered India's first bat species with disk-shaped sticky feet in Meghalaya.
The species, Eudiscopus denticulus, was found at Lailad close to Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary.

f The Nagaland government in consultation with all the stakeholders would prepare a Register of
Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) to protect the indigenous people and their traditional life and
culture. The main purpose of RIIN is to identify the citizens who settled in Nagaland prior to December 1,
1963, the day the mountainous region became a full-fledged state.
f Uttar Pradesh government has decided to establish 10 oxygen plants for unabated supply of oxygen to
the hospitals. A team of DRDO officials will help the state administration in this task. On the other hand
Hindustan aeronautics limited will help state administration in preparing a new all facility covid hospital in
Lucknow.
