This technique will be used in the next chapter to

inscribe regular polygons within circles.

Exercise 2-4: 60 Angle

Your compasses can be used to create an angle of 60 .
This is how it’s achieved.

1. Draw a horizontal line 14 cm long.
2. Open your compasses with a separation of 6 cm.

3. Position the compasses point roughly mid-way

along the line and draw an arc roughly quarter
of a circle which intercepts the line.

4. Place the compasses point on the intersect of
the arc and the line and draw an intercept arc

with the previously drawn arc.
