Launch of EPIC

After 19 months of incredibly hard work from TeamUHN, we went live on Epic
– a modern health information system that is supercharging our clinical
transformation! On Saturday, June 4, Kevin Smith was at the main command
centre at Atrium on Bay and pressed the “Go-Live Button” and celebrated
the crowning achievement of the Synapse project with other TeamUHN
members. The EPIC launch can be watched here.

In preparation for the EPIC go-live on June 4, DMOH held 3 EPIC Townhalls and
multiple EPIC Executive Committee meetings with high participation and
great staff engagement. Congratulations and thank you to DMOH staff for
their hard work and effort to get us to this successful launch of Epic! Thank
you to the EPIC Executive Team and support staff including Vishal Kukreti,
Eitan Amir, Lesley Moody, Rajat Kumar, Suzanna Sellmann, Lisa Tinker, Anet
Julius, Keith Stewart, DMOH Site Leads, Heather Cole, Marcie Flynn-Post, Val
Bowering, Casandra Mayor, Amita Woods, Monika Krzyzanowska, Chris-
tine Brezden, Lillian Siu, Richard Ward, super users, Jamie Austin, Schenell
Rosario, Michelle Williams, and Christina Gulesserian for their leadership
and work to help prepare for this implementation. This health information
system will power a transformation in Princess Margaret’s delivery of world-
class patient care, education, and research.
